SFX L'Builder is a sound effects library manager for video editors on Mac. It keeps every sound you own one shortcut away, so you can find the right one and stay in the edit.
What it does
Press ⌥ Space over any app to open Quick Search. Describe the sound you hear in your head, audition the matches, trim the moment you need and send it to Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve or CapCut. Sounds are analysed and tagged on your Mac, so search works by meaning, not just filenames.
Why it exists
Editors lose time digging through folders, guessing at filenames and switching apps. SFX L'Builder brings the library to the editor instead, with one shortcut and no context switch.
How it treats your work
Your library stays on your Mac. Edits are exported as new files, so originals are never overwritten. Search, analysis and voice generation run offline, with no account and no upload.
Where it is today
SFX L'Builder is in private beta for Apple silicon Macs running macOS 13 or later. A Windows version, the same app with the same features, is in development.
The name
The official name is SFX L'Builder. You may also see it written as SFX LBuilder, SFXLBuilder, SFX L Builder or SFX Libuilder, and some people search for it as SFX Builder or SFX Library Builder. It's the same app, and its official website is sfxlbuilder.com. It is a sound effects app for video editing, unrelated to SFX-L computer power supplies or to archive tools such as 7-Zip SFX Builder.
