How it works

From idea to After Effects timeline. In four steps.

  1. Open Quick Search over After Effects

Press ⌥ Space while you animate. The panel appears on top without switching apps.

  2. Describe the motion

Search “fast whoosh”, “soft UI click” or “glitch riser”. Browse with the arrow keys and hear each result instantly.

  3. Shape it

Trim to the exact frame range you need, pitch it up or down, add a fade. The edit is saved as a new file.

  4. Send it to the comp

Press ⌘ Return to place the sound in the open composition. Or drag it into the Project panel.

After Effects questions. Answered.

More answers on the main FAQ.

Where does the sound land in After Effects?

In the composition that is open when you send, as a layer you can move like any other. A composition must be open.

Do I need to install a script?

No. One-key send uses macOS Automation; macOS asks for permission the first time.

Can I find UI and interface sounds?

Yes. Tags and pools make it easy to keep interface sounds, whooshes and impacts separate, and similar-sound search finds alternatives to a sound you like.

Press ⌥ Space.
Find the sound.
